Carnival Vista Cruise Parking
The massive Carnival Vista is a $780 Million mega cruise ship and the newest in Carnival’s’ fleet. It was designed with all the modern amenities you could imagine and is arguably Carnival’s most entertaining ship in the fleet. One of the most notable differences is the unique utilization of outside spaces to offer customers more choice than ever before. Additionally, Carnival heavily expanded its bar, restaurant, and activity offerings so there’s never a dull moment on this spectacular vessel. If you talk with any cruiser that has been on the Vista, you’ll hear the exact same thing: there was so much to do and not enough time. Even on a 10-Day cruise, you still won’t be able to try everything. So, let’s give you a taste of what this ship has to offer.
You can’t help but notice the flying bicycles on the upper deck! That’s right – flying bicycles. SkyRide at SportSquare is a twin-track suspended bike course where you can strap in and race around for the big win or just cruise around for a phenomenal view. At Havana Bar & Pool, there’s an island retreat that exemplifies classic Cuban-style lounging with an emphasis on style, views, and traditional cocktails! Carnival WaterWorks is packed with fun, including a Kaleid-O-Slide which adds color effects to the ride!
Guy’s Burger Joint and Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse is something to check out! We particularly enjoyed the well-rounded highlights of the Serenity Adult-Only Retreat which is a laid back grown-up spot that’s more lounging and hot tubs than action and adventure. They also have an excellent complimentary chopped salad station that you’ll want to take full advantage of!
If you thought the outside of this magnificent ship was neat, you’ll quickly see that the inside is just as great. Yes; There’s a large Casino that won’t disappoint even the most avid gambler! Carnival wisely brought back live music in many areas of the ship. You’ll find live music on the atrium, in Ocean Plaza, in the pub, on the Lido Deck, in the Havana Bar, and in the Liquid Lounge. You’ll even see an accordion player walking around when you least expect it.
The Caribbean style RedFrog Pub and Brewery have a fully-functional onboard brewery that produces exclusive craft beers that we took advantage of just a few feet from the brewing kettle. For seafood lovers, the seaside Seafood Shack & Bonsai Sushi will satisfy all your cravings while the JiJi Asian kitchen and Cucina del Capitano are well prepared to fulfill any and all cuisine-specific cravings. The Fahrenheit 555 steakhouse has some of the finest food served anywhere and they even added an outdoor seating area that really makes the ambiance top notch. Also noteworthy is the additional seating provided by Bonsai Sushi and Cherry on Top.
Carnival Vista seems to offer unlimited adventures for the kids. There are youth activities, including Dr. Seuss Bookville, for all ages and at nearly all hours. On the stateroom side, there are two new types of rooms added by Carnival: Family Harbor is a special area reserved for families and features a private 24-hour lounge and concierge service. All Havana staterooms and suites are conveniently located just off the Havana Bar and Pool for obvious reasons.
Carnival offers a variety of dining options. The main dining room is a great choice. There are several meal choices and you can always get seconds!
Also, Carnival has kept the dress code fairly relaxed. Daytime is casual and remains the same into the evening; however, cutoff jeans and swimwear are not permitted. I personally wear dress shorts, nice shirt, and casual clothes with sandals unless my wife tells me differently…. Which brings us to the two “cruise elegant” nights that are held on the 6 night or longer sailings. At that time, I’m directed to wear long dress-casual pants and collared shirts if not a suit, sports jacket, and tie. That’s not required but strongly encouraged because these two nights are usually times when cruise photos are taken before and after dinner. Oh, you’ll also see women decked out in sundresses, cocktail dresses, pantsuits, and skirt and blouses. There’s also a great dance club and coffee bar.
I can’t possibly cover all the incredible amenities that this mega cruise ship has to offer but you can be assured of one thing, you won’t be disappointed cruising on the Carnival Vista!
